BIG! BIG! TWO WEEKS COMING UP AT THE CORNER OF RICHMOND AND RAMSAY

BIG! BIG! TWO WEEKS COMING UP AT THE CORNER OF RICHMOND AND RAMSAY

Jul 28, 2022

We start off things at the bookshop on August 3rd with two authors - the always popular Marty Gervais is back with his new book “Meeting Thoreau at the Gas Station Diner”, and, for the first time we host Daniel Lockhart, the author of “Go Down Odawa Day”. In addition to book signings, both authors will do readings from their books. The evening starts at 6:30pm. Please register! Once again, we thank The Writers Union of Canada for their support of authors.

Next up, our two new neighbours, Evelyn’s Candy House and White Woods Home have their official openings on August 6. Mayor Aldo Dicarlo will officially cut the ribbon at noon. Lots of special offerings and a small Oxley wine garden will be set up in our colourful alley between The Panetteria and the bookshop.

Story Time continues Sunday August 7at 1 pm. Our very own book seller Emily Richard is our reader with four excellent reads for the young ones that day.

Then on August 13th and 14th we celebrate our Second Birthday! As a BIG THANKS to everyone for SUPPORTING LOCAL all our books, puzzles etc. will be 12% off those two days.

Also, on Saturday at 11 am children's author of "Lucy Tries Sports", Lisa Bowes comes in to sign books and meet her fans. Then Lisa will help us cut our birthday 🎂. Please drop by for a 🍰 and have a chat with Lisa about the importance of sports for kid’s mental and physical health. Lisa is another successful author who has been assisted by the Writers Union of Canada.

On Sunday the 14th we start our day with Story Time and AM800 CKLW morning personality Dan MacDonald who has picked out some great reads that speak to the importance of tolerance, acceptance, kindness, and fun. Dan will also do the first cut on our Sunday birthday cake. Yes, we have a birthday cake on both days.

And our celebration doesn’t stop there! We are delighted to welcome back Windsor Symphony Orchestra to play in the King’s Navy yard at 3 pm. But drop by the bookshop around 2 pm to hear the musicians play a few impromptu songs and answer any questions you might have about music. 🎶

Like we said Big Big Two Weeks. Please drop by as we can’t wait to see YOU our important supporters.

Thanks, from the River Bookshop Team
