HAVE A HOOT!

HAVE A HOOT!

October 13, 2021

On November 2nd the very popular Phil Roberts is back! Naturalist, knowledgeable birder and “raconteur” extraordinaire - his previous talks have always been a huge hit with our readers.
And this event will have an interesting twist.

We will meet at the bookshop for a talk at 6:30. Right now the migration of the Saw-whet owl is in full migration. They are very cute little owls - about 7 inches tall and weigh less than 5 ounces. Phil will not only walk you through an interesting slide show, he may have a Saw-whet to do a bird banding demonstration.

Afterwards we will leave the shop to do an “owl prowl”. Phil will release our little banded owl and whistle to attract others
Dress warmly and come out to this special event!

Like all our events this one will be educational, engaging and entertaining.

Email info@riverbookshop.com or call 226-906-8311 to reserve your spot!

And in the meantime here are a few books on owls to get you started...

Owls in the Wild: A visual essay - Snowy Owl, a visual natural history - and the wonderful children's book, Owl Moon
