It's that time of year....

It's that time of year....

April 05, 2022

It’s that time of year again - where everything is waking up, sprouting, growing. The time when the world feels a little more alive. And at the River Bookshop we’re no different - new books, new events, community partnerships, neighbourhood developments - we’ve got it all!

Amherstburg will be the place to be this summer and we hope to be a big part of that starting NOW!

So pay attention, stay tuned and be sure to join us for all the activities and events that catch your fancy!

APRIL IS POETRY MONTH!

What better time to step out of your reading comfort zone and try some poetry? We have world famous poets, local poets, young poets, older poets - something for every taste. Highlighted here are a few but be sure to search our website and ask our booksellers for even more.

Shown: Tukhone by Daniel Lockhart, Call us What We Carry by Amanda Gorman, Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, Dearly by Margaret Atwood and Look at Her by Vanessa Shields.

Titanic Experience - April 10-15th, all day

110 years ago the majestic Titanic set sail. Even to this day the great ship captures the imagination of people across the world and our readers are no different. We've brought in a number of Titanic related books and puzzles and as a special experience from April 10 - 15th when you come into the store you can get your own boarding pass in the name of an actual passenger, you can try on a replica life vest and you can learn fascinating trivia about the ship and its voyage. Be sure to check our passenger list as you leave to find out how your passenger fared.
