After two and a half years preparing for, helping launch, and leading the River Bookshop; Lori Wightman is leaving as our Lead Book Seller.

Our bookshop team of Cindy, Taylor, Lauren, Grace and Emily continue in place to help you make the right book and puzzle choice. In the meantime we continue to help make Amherstburg a great place to live and visit.

Here’s what is going on over the next little while:

Local author Ed Gagnon of the “Norm Strom” series is in the shop this Saturday to do a book signing/ meet the author from 12pm to 2pm.  

For the youngsters, the bookshop's excellent storyteller, Lauren, continues with Story Time every Sunday at 1 pm. This week her theme is “cars” to tie in with “Cars Gone Crazy” in downtown Amherstburg.  

Our monthly Book Club continues this coming Tuesday with book lover Cindy as the host. Author Claire Ross Dunn of “At Last Count” will come in to do a book signing from 6-7 pm to be followed by the club meeting until 8 pm.

On July 28 at 6:30 pm photographer Mike Evans will present a beautiful photographic journey through Ojibway Park. "From Warblers to Three Frogs and Coyotes”. Good seats are still available and all in-person attendees qualify for 10% off all book purchases that evening.

July 31, the day before Emancipation day, and thanks to the assistance of the Amherstburg Freedom Museum, our celebrity Story Time Reader is Gary Archibald, CTV Meteorologist, and author. Please bring the youngsters for this special Story Time.
