Across Europe and the far East there are a lot of very successful Night Markets.
So why not Amherstburg?
Essex County already has a number of successful Day Markets. At the same time, there are an increasing number of small businesses creating beautiful crafts, and products that seldom find their way into the big chain stores. So local entrepreneurs can really benefit from your support at these markets.
A number of Amherstburg’s local businesses are teaming up to create new ways to activate our downtown core. Our first initiative was our Halloween movie night—the Festival of Frights. After that big success, we now plan to host free movies a number of times during 2023. The next event we are testing happens this Saturday, December 10th, from noon to 8 pm. It’s a Night Market, to be held in the parking lot behind 61 and 63 Richmond in Amherstburg, and presented by Libro Credit Union.
Again, this is a test that we expect to learn from so that we can host a number of successful Night Markets next year.
