“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”

—C.S. Lewis

This past Sunday, October 2nd, Indigenous Treaty Rights Activist and Community Youth Worker Kris Meloche gave a touching and personal presentation of his Indigenous-themed books in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The kids were very engaged in the conversation. Also, they were so inspired by the beautiful art in Kris’s books that they created a bunch of lovely cards to send to their new pen pals in Inuvik, NWT. This was surely a memorable event for all in attendance!

Looking for some family-friendly fun this Thanksgiving weekend? Then you’ll love our bookseller and children’s expert Darrie-Ann Richard’s Thanksgiving-themed story time on October 9th! 🦃🍁 Enjoy the beautiful Fall weather while Darrie reads some sweet seasonal stories. And as always, there will be a sweet treat from Evelyn’s Candy House waiting for you at the end of the reading. We hope to see you there!

Stay tuned for next week’s reading on October 16th by our shop favourite, Miss Lauren! With her magic hat 🎩 and her stupendous storytelling talents, Miss Lauren will woo and educate the crowd with a selection of emotion-themed books. Going back to school has been stressful for so many of us, even our littlest citizens. Bring your kiddos down to Sunday Story Time for some social emotional learning!
