Winter is the best time to join a book club, and River Bookshop has a club for everyone. When it's cold and wet outside, cuddle up with a warm cup of tea and a good book. From babies to seniors, we invite readers of all ages to join the club. Start reading every day.

Sunday Story Time: Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! 

What is your favourite Dr. Seuss story? The Cat in the Hat, Fox in Socks, Horton Hears a Who? Join Darrie-Ann in the children's nook at 11AM for Story Time on Sunday March 2nd. We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss, and reading several of his classics in honour of his birthday!  

Calling all Kids and Teens: Book Clubs UPDATE

Our youth book clubs met this past week, and we were excited to have several new members. If you have a young reader looking to share books with friends, join us!

Our next meet ups take place next month, and the new books have been revealed. Our Juniors are reading JAWBREAKER and they will meet on Saturday, March 22nd, and the Teens are reading THIS IS OUR STORY and they will meet on Monday, March 24th

BOOKS IN THE 'BURG

For our February book club meet up, we'll be talking about all of this year's Canada Reads finalists! You can choose one, or read as many as you'd like. 

If you'd like to join us for this discussion, we'll be meeting on Tuesday, March 25th at 7PM at River Bookshop, and offered on Zoom as well. Refreshments will be available through the Hole in the Wall. The books are 15% off for members, no matter which book you pick. If you'd like the join the club to receive the discount and the link to Zoom, just email us at any time or visit us in store.

FINAL CHANCE TO SEE EXHIBIT

The Amherstburg Freedom Museum is hosting The Artists of Colour’s exhibit “The Never-Ending Quest for Inclusion.” This special presentation is a fine arts–based project displaying a combination of paintings, images, artifacts, and history information panels.

Exhibit open Tuesday to Thursday 12PM - 5PM and Saturday and Sunday 1PM - 5PM, until March 2nd.

The wait is over! The Price of Freedom is happening THIS weekend at The Capitol Theatre! Show times:

Friday, February 28th and Saturday, March 1st, at 7:30PM, and March 2nd at 2PM.

This powerful original play by Carlos Anthony, directed by Chris Rabideau, is a must-see event, presented in collaboration with the Amherstburg Freedom Museum in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Click here for tickets!
