It's been a cold and snowy week, but River Bookshop and the Hole in the Wall are just about as cozy and warm as it gets.

Stop in this weekend and heat things up next to the fireplace. Plan your trip to the 'Burg today. Bring the family for Story Time, or plan a romantic dinner at the Hole in the Wall. Let us cater to you.

Calling all kids! Join us FRIDAY and SUNDAY for DOUBLE the fun, with TWO Story Time readings.

PA DAY FRIDAY STORY TIME : January 17th is a PA DAY. Come out of the snow and cozy up by our fireplace with Darrie-Ann for some snowy stories and a crafts. Join us at 11AM for Story Time fun. 

SUNDAY STORY TIME: Join us Sunday, January 19th, when Terence from CKBG Amherstburg joins us as our guest reader. Terence will share some stories from our shelves with Amherstburg's youngest readers.

Calling all Juniors and Teens. February's selections are in!

Junior Book Club:

Jr book Club is headed to the land of Fairy Tales and Fantasy for their next adventure and read. Join us in reading Chris Colfer's The Land of Stories. If you have an 8-12 year old who would like to join our Junior Bookclub, just send us an email at info@riverbookshop.com for information and to register. All members receive 15% off the club selections. Our next Junior Book Club meeting is on Saturday, February 22nd at 2PM.

Teen Book Club:

Our #teenbookclub members take turns recommending or requesting new genres to read and this month it's Mythology. If you have a 13-17 year old who would like to join us in reading The Immortal Games, stop in or email us at River Bookshop to register and receive 15% off #teenbookclub reads, including this Percy Jackson meets The Hunger Games mythological adventure. Our next meet up takes place Monday, February 24th at 6:30PM at River Bookshop.

Join us in the Hole in the Wall this Friday, January 17th, at 7PM. Local musical artist Ian Smith will be performing a variety of jazz, blues, and soft pop material.

Celebrate the incredible talent of filmmakers in Windsor-Essex at the first Short Film Showcase at the Hole in the Wall.

Join us for an unforgettable evening featuring a lineup of short films that highlight the creativity and stories of our local creators. Enjoy the films, grab some drinks and snacks, and stick around for engaging Q&A sessions with the filmmakers after each film.

If you don’t know Jack Edwards, your life isn’t complete. He is a long time resident of Amherstburg, and even at his advanced age he is an active, sharp member of Amherstburg’s important Economic Development Advisory Committee. Happy birthday to one of the town’s most positive community builders. From all the gang at Black Dog Entertainment.
