2024 still has less than a month to go, and we at River Bookshop would like to thank you in advance for helping us reach a record year! Opening an independent bookshop in a small town is not for the faint of heart (let alone doing it during a worldwide pandemic). We believe we have succeeded because we worked hard to be true to our values: educate, engage, inspire, and entertain our many supporters.
Today Amherstburg is on a roll, due in part to Open Air, many new art installations, and lots of new interesting shops. We are proud to be part of the Amherstburg “buzz.” But as the photo says, “if you do not shop local, there will be no local shops.” So please support all the businesses in town. December at River Bookshop is full of holiday fun and excitement, especially in the Children's Nook. This Sunday at 11AM, we are welcoming Improv Actor Eric Miinch to River Bookshop as our Story Time reader. Miinch reads Munsch is sure to bring laughter and smiles, when Eric shares some favourites by Canadian Author Robert Munsch.

On Sunday, December 15th, Amherstburg Deputy Mayor Chris Gibb returns to River Bookshop as our 11AM Story Time guest. Chris will be sharing some holiday picture books with our Story Time families, and helping to get us in the holiday spirit.
On Saturday, December 21st, the mean one himself, THE GRINCH, will be joining us for a meet and greet between 1-3 PM. We will be kicking off his visit with a reading of HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS.
Last but certainly not least, on Sunday, December 22nd, at 11 AM, SANTA himself will be joining us as our Story Time guest, along with one of his elves. Come hear all about the magic that happens on Christmas Eve when we read with jolly old St. Nick.
