LAST CALL FOR HOLIDAY SHOPPING
The holidays are quickly approaching, but that doesn't mean you can't finish your shopping and have fun too. Plan a trip to Amherstburg this weekend and enjoy dinner with entertainment on Friday, meet the Grinch on Saturday, and tell Santa Claus what you want for Christmas on Sunday. More details below.
On Saturday, December 21st, the mean one himself, THE GRINCH, will be joining us for a meet and greet between 1PM - 3PM. We will be kicking off his visit with a reading of HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS.
We are very lucky to host this loveable green villain again this year. We had so much fun last year that we had to invite him back. If you know any littles who would like to meet the Grinch and have their picture taken, stop in this Saturday!
On Sunday, December 22, join us in store anytime between 1-3PM to meet local author John Schlarbaum and have your book signed and personalized. A personalized book is a great gift for the holidays, and a murder mystery set in Amherstburg is sure to appeal to any reader. Come learn about his newest book The Diary of Death.
As seen in the River Town Times, below.
We hope to see you then!
Join us this weekend for our final Sunday Story Time of the year! And SANTA will be joining us as our very special guest reader.
Santa and one of his elves will be in the Children's Nook on Sunday at our 11 AM Story Time, and they will have a special Christmas treat for all our little attendees.
Story Time will return in 2025! Join us on Sunday, January 12th, for a new year, new themes, new guests, and new books! Thank you for a fabulous year, and Happy Holidays.

Kick off the holidays with dinner at the Hole in the Wall on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night. Elevate your traditional gathering and celebrate with us. Experience the magic of our full food and beverage menu.
Add some entertainment to the menu. Join us Friday, December 20th from 7PM - 10PM, when D.J. Chris Tuer will be mixing things up. Reserve your table today.
Last Sunday a small but intimate crowd joined us upstairs at the Hole in the Wall for a poetry reading featuring local talents Marty Gervais and Peter Hrastovec. This week, Gervais's new book The Sky Above was selected by CBC as one of the best Canadian poetry books of 2024. Congratulations from the River Bookshop Team! Click here to see the list.
So much to see and do in Amherstburg!
We hope to see you downtown this weekend.
