Weekly Buzz Newsletter: Latin Fest & Art by the River

Aug 27, 2026

Summer is coming to a close and that means Art by the River is back for the 58th time. One hundred and seventy artists and artisans (including food vendors, local authors, and entertainers) will take over the beautiful grounds of Fort Malden.

Weather permitting, almost 10,000 visitors are expected to enjoy this annual event. Not only does it shine a light on the Fort, but it also brings many visitors to enjoy Open Air and Amherstburg. The Gibson Gallery is the original anchor to Amherstburg’s growing arts’ scene. Running an art gallery today is very challenging. The gallery needs the proceeds of the Art by the River event to afford all it does during the other 51 weeks of the year. So enjoy a great weekend while you are helping two things that help Make Amherstburg Great.

WHAT MAKES AMHERSTBURG GREAT: NEXT UP

Next week, one of Ontario’s best award-winning events will close for another year. Only fitting that we will salute another great year of Open Air.
