SHOP, PLAY, EAT, and READ LOCAL

Plan to make the most of what Amherstburg has to offer. It's too cold and wet to start the gardening or open the pool, so plan a shopping date to the bookshop, candy shop, music shop, popcorn shop, home store, and so much more. Visit a museum, the art gallery, Fort Malden, and stop for coffee too. And don't forget to make reservations for dinner downtown.

“Some things are worth the wait. A little suspense heightens the pleasure” —Jocelyn Murray (who is, appropriately, an author)

The reopening of the Hole in the Wall is getting closer. The intimate and elevated lounge bar will look the same, and fittingly, Master Sommelier Jennifer Huether has discovered some Canadian 🇨🇦 wines that suit our southern Mediterranean profile.

The BIG reveal will be our new Chef and her new menu. Think seasonal, local, fresh, and innovative.

—Rosemary Skinner, HIW Manager

Last weekend our Story Time friends enjoyed listening to Dr. Seuss classics read by River Bookshop's very own bookseller, Darrie-Ann. Fun was had by all, listening to the call, of the master at work, who is full of quirk, and on his birthday, we did say, it was a good day, and a good day it was, to read a book, in our children's nook, with our friends, small and tall, and fun was had by all.

So much to see and do in Amherstburg!

We hope to see you downtown this weekend.
