ART ALLEY GETS BETTER AND BETTER
Art alley gets better every year and is fast becoming another reason to visit beautiful Amherstburg. The west entrance off Dalhousie is now even more creative with new art by David Creed. And importantly it draws the eye of the walkers on the street.
“Creativity takes courage.” —Henri Matisse

ACO 19th ANNUAL HERITAGE AWARDS GALA
The Architectural Society of Ontario recognizes and supports heritage preservation across the province. In 2021, River Bookshop was recognized with the Peter Stokes Restoration Award “for the inspiring restoration of the 1880s property, helping to revitalize downtown Amherstburg.”
This year, two local buildings are competing for awards at this year's ACO 19th Annual Heritage Awards Gala on October 16th.
- Amherstburg Freedom Museum, nominated for the ACO Public Education and Engagement Award
- Bucket List, 79-81 Murray Street, nominated for the Paul Oberman Award for Adaptive Reuse: Small-Scale/Individual/Small Business
Amherstburg definitely has a reputation for heritage conservation.
