CHRISTMAS IS ONLY 42 DAYS AWAY

Head downtown Amherstburg Saturday, November 16th at 5PM for a magical night to start off the holiday season. River Lights Opening Night! The town is kicking off the holiday season.

Experience a stunning display of twinkling lights, illuminated trees, and festive decorations that transform Amherstburg into a winter wonderland!

Taylor Swift fans! We're happy to tell you about one of this week's big new releases. Just out yesterday, this is the book on Taylor Swift: the first full look at her work and her impact on the music industry. The author Rob Sheffield is both a respected music journalist and the most trusted source of Taylor Swift news for fans everywhere.

At just 184 pages, it's the perfect size: big enough to give Swifties a lot to dig into, and small enough to be a stocking stuffer. You can order it online or visit us in store at River Bookshop.

We are excited to have two story times this week. Join Darrie-Ann on Friday, November 15th for a special PA DAY Story Time at 11AM, when we share some stories and a craft about animals and the changing of the seasons. Come see what happens in nature as the leaves and snow begin to fall.

AND on Sunday, November 17th, Author and Educator Carlie Jean will be joining us as our Story Time reader. Carlie will be sharing some beautiful and imaginative picture books about BOOKS, libraries, and the LOVE of reading. Join us weekly for our Sunday Story Time at 11AM.

Light up your night with Evelyn's Glow Up Cotton Candy Sticks. Celebrate the opening of River Lights on Saturday with a sweet, colourful treat that sparkles just as bright as the lights around you.

The Holiday Season is here and Evelyn's Candy House is packed with sweet surprises! Discover our delicious assortment of festive house-made delights inside.

VINYL IS IN AND IT'S AT THE HIW

Do not miss this opportunity to experience Vinyl Night at the Hole in the Wall on Thursday, November 14th. Local vinyl expert Dylan Woodall from Vintage and Vinyl will be playing classics from his collection. Come in and enjoy great wines in an elevated and intimate setting.

Guests will enjoy classic hits from Ray Charles, Bruce Springsteen, the Beatles, Zeppelin, and many more. Dylan is also making some of his collection available for sale. Go to theholeinthewall.ca to reserve a table. Looking forward to seeing you at Amherstburg’s newest hot spot.

The Holiday Artisan Shoppe, Art by the River Indoors, starts on Thursday, November 14th. The Gibson Gallery is located at 140 Richmond Street. Visit them Thursday - Sunday, 11AM - 5 PM.

The Gibson Gallery is the former Michigan Central Railroad Station, ca. 1896, and it has been renovated to its original Romanesque glory. The Gallery offers a full season of exhibits showcasing Essex County artists, travelling exhibits from Ontario museums and galleries, plus an Artisan Shoppe, making the heritage building a vital center for the visual arts. They also offer arts and craft lessons, an artist guild, and three needle art guilds.

Looking a lot like Christmas! Volunteers from the Amherstburg Fort Malden Horticultural Society are once again making the town look great for the holidays. Check out their 70 beautiful planters that will make holiday shopping downtown even more festive.

So much to see and do in Amherstburg!

We hope to see you downtown this weekend.
