DEFINITELY TIME TO SHOP LOCAL
And by local, we mean Canada. Detroit is a wonderful place to visit and full of Americans who respect our sovereignty and who are our dear friends. But the on again/off again/on again tariffs are negatively affecting the Canadian economy and Essex County.
Check out the many fine shops profiled in this week’s Buzz, and read about how each of them are highlighting Canadian products and ingredients.
WE SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS
Our family of shops already aggressively champion the practice of supporting local, and we continue to make room for more Canadian content, and to grow our selection of products created by local writers and artists.
Stop into River Bookshop this weekend to see our display of titles written by Canadian authors, as well as our local authors section, next to the fireplace. Check out Elly Blake's new fantasy novel The Forest King's Daughter, or John Schlarbaum's mystery The Diary of Death, set in Amherstburg!
March Break is here, and we have added 3 story times to our schedule for our young reading friends this week.
- Thursday, March 13th at 1PM is our Teddy Bear Picnic Story Time. Bring your favourite Teddy or Plushie and come learn about bears in the wild and popular bear characters.
- On Friday, March 14th at 11AM, our Story Time theme is Eric Carle Classics, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar is the focus of our Story Time Fun. Join us for this reading and colouring activity.
- On Sunday, March 16th at 11AM we are back in the Children's Nook for our regular weekly story time where Darrie-Ann will share some FolkTales and FairyTales with our Story Time Friends.
Evelyn’s Candy House offers a variety of “house-made” chocolates, and a variety of international delights to choose from. Pictured above are some of Evelyn's Canadian House-Made treats. PLUS, COMING SOON: Something very Canadian! Stay tuned to next week's Buzz for more details.
MARCH BREAK SPECIAL! All week long stop by Evelyn’s for 2 for 1 Cotton Candy and our special $5.00 Surprise Bags. We hope everyone has a SWEET week!
We hope you will add us to your March Break Fun and join us!

WHAT'S INSIDE: CANADIAN FLOUR AND SUGAR
The Panetteria has been seeking out and featuring amazing local products in shop to pair with their delicious selection of breads, pastries, and desserts. Stop in this weekend, and take a closer look.
"All of our little extra merchandise products like jams, coffees, etc., are all Canadian-made (and local!). And all of our breads & pastries are made with Canadian flour and sugar."

RE-OPENING COMING SOON
Yes, yes, the Hole in the Wall opening is coming soon. Staying true to our Master Sommelier’s preference for wines that have a southern Mediterranean origin, we always have wines from Italy, France, Spain. We have also added a few new Canadian wines to our cellar. Look for "Canadian" on our wine list.
Last Sunday Amherstburg Community Police Officer Nick Dupuis joined us for Story Time. A huge THANK YOU to Officer Nick from all our Story Time friends. The Story Time fun continues Thursday at 1PM, Friday at 11AM, and again Sunday at 11AM.
So much to see and do in Amherstburg!
We hope to see you downtown this weekend.
