A mysterious shadow haunts the hallways at nightfall. Silently it moves from room to room and sometimes leaves with someone in its arms . . . carrying them off to the land of dreams. Everyone fears this shadow; everyone, that is, except him. The shadow is his only friend.
A sick child, alone in a hospital room, decides to talk with Death so that he can understand it better and, more importantly, stop being afraid of it. Timid at first, the strange visitor slowly relaxes as the young boy confides in it. Like the fox in The Little Prince, it allows itself to be gradually tamed by him. As each day passes, a strong bond forms between the child and the shadow that holds the key to the country of dreams. Over time, the shadow draws closer to him and he to it, until . . .
