Where I come from, you’d better talk the way everyone talks or else keep quiet. And your father is not someone who knows how to keep quiet. Or someone who likes to talk the way everyone talks. So there’s been some trouble.

And yet ever since he showed up in Mélie’s life, keeping quiet is the only thing her father Sami can do. That’s because he has come from far away. He doesn’t speak the same language as his daughter and no longer knows how to live as a free man. Mélie will have to “domesticate” him as she did the kitten that she found, and as Mr. Xavier and his boyfriend will have to do with Mei-Li, the little girl they’ve just adopted.
